Artificial Intelligence

Coming Fall 2024, the new CSIT AS Degree and Certificate of Achievement in Artificial Intelligence is one of the first of its kind in the State of California Community College System!

This exciting new pathway will include three new AI classes in Concepts, Applications, and Strategies and Solutions.

 

This program will prepare students to pursue a variety of AI-related occupations, such as field support and prompt engineers, AI-enabled operators, expert liaison consultants, customer technical support representatives, and technical support specialists. The acquired skills enable graduates to collaborate with knowledge systems, providing individuals and organizations with valuable insights into operations and strategic opportunities.

The AI Discovery Lab is a place where the magic of artificial intelligence meets the MiraCosta community! Students, faculty, and classified professionals are all welcome as we dive into a world of endless possibilities - a space where we seek to unravel the mysteries of AI and its mind-blowing influence on not only teaching and learning, but the entire world around us.

The MiraCosta College CSIT Department enthusiastically endorses textbook affordability initiatives as a means to supporting student equity and success.  Faculty members are currently working on a ZTC Pathway Grant from the State of California that will enable, effective Fall 2026, all students in this pathway to take the required courses with zero textbook costs.
